Ashton Whitty and Asia Argento
Ashton Blaise Whitty, born November 1, 1995 was raised in Berkeley, California. She is an actress known by her roles in Choices (2010), The Heart and Other Small Shapes (2006) and Chrissie Mayr's Content House (2022).
Asia Argento began her career as an actor as an actress in Rome. Her family also comprises of film makers. The Church, directed by Michele Soavi, was her first role. Red Wood Pigeon, the film she appeared in as Nanni Moretti's daughter came out a year after. It came from Close Friends by Michele Placido which saw Asia's acting career take off. Cannes International Film Festival received the movie well. Daria Nicholodi was one of Argento's favorite actresses. She performed the part of an orexic kid looking for their killer. Asia was a part of Dario's Phantom of the Opera, the third film she co-directed together with her father. The other two included Trauma and The Stendhal Syndrome. The role she played as Arianna in Carlo Verdone's Perdiamoci di the vista, a physically handicapped girl, was an arduous and complex role that earned it the David di Donatello award for the best actor. She had a feature part as Queen Margot, directed by Patrice Cereau. In 1995, she was a co-star alongside Michel Piccoli on Peter Del Monte's Compagna di viaggio. This collaboration won her an award from the David diDonatello as well as an award called a Grolla d'oro. Asia's first short film was an episode of the De Generazione movie. Two years later, Asia became a director and made two more films. The first, AbelAsia a tribute for her father. Asia's feature directing debut was Scarlet Diva where she played the lead actress, and also wrote the screenplay. The film was released globally on May 20, 2000. It was the winner of an award in Brooklyn's Williamsburg festival of film.
