Contractor attended the highly-regarded Stratford Shakespeare Festival in Ontario, Canada, for Pericles. After one full year, she was given the role of lead. The year 2002 was a great one for her. Canadian critics praised her performance in 92 productions of the play. Contractor accepted an invitation to take part in Stratford's Conservatory course. Only eight men selected as well as four females get accepted for a 20-week intensive course in classical theater.
